Module # 7

1. For me the most exciting part of the first phase was learning about new technology.  That I have greatly increased my knowledge and that I have met many new people were fun.

The most challenging thing about the project has been accessing the interenet and posting my answers.  This is because our school computer has slow internet.

The only thing I would change is that the meetings which occur should also happen in the marzes, not only in the capital.  I haven't been able to participate in them because I live very far from Yerevan.

2. My funny video is from the movie Asterix and Oblelix I think it's funny because the actors  make you laugh everytime you see it.  The language isn't that important because there is so much physical comedy.   ENJOY! 

Spelling Bee

I really enjoy participating in projects. My friend and I participated in the Goris Spelling Bee. I like this project because I can meet new friends who are also interested in English and live in the Goris region. It also improves my knowledge of the English language.

Module # 5

This Clip uses two parts of the brain.  First, the limbic brain is used when I am watching this clip and the music comes in.  Secondly, the neocortext is used when you have to read the names of the directors, actors, and the film's name.

Symbols: there is the American flag so you understand that this film takes place in the American Embassy.

Humor: When Brad Pitt calls and talks in a women's voice.

Beautiful People: Brad Pitt and George Clooney

Strength: In order to achieve their goal they need to be strong.

Timing: This movie promotion is edited in order for people to see it and want to go to see the movie.  It is fast paced and gives a little hit as to what the film is about.

I chose this clip, because it influences the three brains.
The Reptilian Brain- When the woman is shot, I was afraid because it is unexpected.
The Limbic Brain- The images of Brad Pitt’s face are very saddening and the music increases the sorrow of the moment.
The Neocortex – In the end when there is an advertisement and it is written to visit the website the neocorotex is influenced.

Modul #2

1. I really enjoy reading books. I like to read detective stories, and classics. I like reading classics from other countries. Especially, Ernest Hemingway’s Old Man and the Sea and Dumas’ Count of Monte Cristo.

2. I read all types of newspapers but my favorite are about celebrities and sports. Now, I read more about the financial crisis. My favorite magazines are Yes! and Lina. I would like to read 
American magazines but they are not available in our country.

3. Everyday I spend a lot of my time listening to music. I can’t play the piano well. I like foreign music. My favorites are Justin Timberlake, Enrique Inglesias, 50 cent, Rihanna, and Britney Spears. I listen to music on MP3 discs, on TV, on the radio, and DVDs.

4. I watch a lot of TV; especially, movies on TV. I like to watch music videos on TV because they are more interesting and you can see what the song is about.

5. I don’t play video games often. However, I play chess on the computer to improve my intelligence. Currently, chess is my favorite computer game.

6. Now that I am participating in this project I use computers much more than before. I use computers everyday now. I write my blog responses on the computer.

7. I can’t spend that much time on the internet because I don’t have it in my home. I use our school’s computers and internet. However, I go on it about 3 hours a week to update my blog and do research for school projects.

Modul #1

1.Hi, I’m Mane. I’m studying in 9th form and I live in Tatev. My family isn’t large. I have a mom, dad, and brother. My dad is a farmer, my mom is a teacher, and my brother is studying in the 6th form. I have many friends and we are all unique. Since I was young I have participated in many projects. I’ve had a bit of luck, and from participation.
I like all my subjects in school, because in my opinion they all contribute to bettering my knowledge. I am a member of many clubs; Armenian language, English, Health, and Choir. I really like house pets. I’m very happy that I was born in the year of the dog and perhaps because of this I love dogs. I have many dreams. But, my biggest dream is to become an actress and be in a Hollywood movie. I want to become a positive and good role model for others. I would like to volunteer to help others; for example, go to Africa and help sick children. I dream to visit many cultures and learn about their cultures and l lifestyles. In my free-time I like to draw, read, and go walking with my friends around the monastery.
2.Currentaly, I am reading a book about American history. This book is interesting for me because it discusses famous presidents, holidays, the flag and many other topics. For me, the fact that it is in book form is more accessible to me. Since I don’t have my our computer, it would not be easy for me to access the information online with a book, I can always go back and read it to fully understand.
3.In our community do not receive many television channels. This is an issue because we only receive Armenian language broadcaots. I would like to have other languages spoken on TV I could improve my listening skills. Also, it would benefit us to have news from other countries. I would like to write a petition to our governor to see if this can be changed.
4.Since I am from a village, and most participants are from the city, I can bring my experiences of living in a small community. For us, new forms of technology are not easily accessible. I would bring active participation and a positive attitude because I want to bring new knowledge to my community.
